 What was Tawnypelt’s Part?

It seemed to me that Tawnypelt did not have a major role in TNP, which sets her aside from the other journeying cats who all played an important part after the journey.

Tawnypelt did have a few small roles, but they were small. She had the role of befriending Feathertail on the journey while her leg was injured, but when Feathertail died, Tawnypelt was somewhat forgotten.

All the journeying cats played a major role after the Clans found their new home, all except Tawnypelt. Her Clan thought she was a traitor and did not appreciate her leaving. Even the cats who were not supposed to go on the journey in the first place played a bigger role than her.

The biggest part she really played was when she rejected a relationship with her father, Tigerstar, and convinced Brambleclaw to do the same. But she wasn’t mentioned much other than those few paragraphs, and Brambleclaw, most likely, would have come to the realization that joining Tigerstar and his half-brother, Hawkfrost, would not do him any good anyway.

Though small, there was one other role or part she played the NP books. She was chosen to go on this journey and represent her Clan in that journey.

The reason, I believe, for StarClan choosing one cat from each Clan was so that if they do return, the Clans wouldn't have such a hard time trusting the word of a cat from their Clan. Imagine if one or two cats went on the journey, both in RiverClan. After their return, the other Clans won't trust the words of two cats from a rivarly Clan.

Though barley, or rarley mentioned, she did play an important role in her Clan's survival, not to mention the fact she found them a new home.

It is true that Tawnypelt did represent her Clan by journeying to sun-drown place with the other five cats, but her Clan didn't even appreciate that.

ShadowClan remained suspicious of her relationship with the journeying cats, and did not hesitate to show it. They scorned her for continuing to talk with her friends at gatherings and beside the border. Blackstar was also very angry when she brought the ThunderClan patrol to help rid ShadowClan of the vicious kittypets. Though Blackstar showed relief that the kittypets where taken care of, he still did not trust the cats Tawnypelt had trusted to help them.

: ( She didn't even get her picture on the cover of the rolling stone - I mean on one of the covers. Of the six cats, Brambleclaw, Squirrelflight, Crowfeather, and Feathertail got their picture on covers. They all four had major roles though.... Stormfur didn't have much of a role either...

Tawnypelt doesn't play a big enough part to be on a cover.

Midnight~Brambleclaw: he is the main character, and chosen to go to sun-drown place
Moonrise~Feathertail: she is the one who fulfill's the prophecy of The Tribe Of Endless Hunting and kills sharptooth, saving everyone
Dawn~Squirrelflight: It is from her point of view, and she helps to lead the clans to their new home
Starlight~Leafpool: the story is told from hers and Brambleclaw's point of view, and it focuses on her life as a medicine cat and what she did for the clan when they first arrived in the new territory (like finding the Moonpool)
Twightlight~Crowfeather: told from Leafpool and Squirrelflight's point of view, this book mainly focuses on Leafpool and Crowfeather
Sunset~Hawkfrost: The book is told from Brambleclaw's point of view, and Hawkfrost plays a major part in trying to help his father turn Brambleclaw evil, and then he is killed by Brambleclaw in the end

So, the picture on the covers of the books is for characters who play a major role or tell the story from their point of view. Tawnypelt didn't really have any major role, but I DO think that Stormfur should have been on the cover of Moonrise, since it was told from his view and he was the one kept prisoner by the tribe.
